จิตตวรรค — หมวดจิต ๑๓ บท
อนวฏฺฐิตจิตฺตสฺส สทฺธมฺมํ อวิชานโต / ปริปฺลวปสาทสฺส ปญฺญา น ปริปูรติ.
For one of unsteady mind, who does not know the true Dhamma, whose confidence wavers, wisdom is not fulfilled.
ขุ. ธ. ๒๕/๒๐.
อปฺปมาณํ หิตํ จิตฺตํ ปริปุณฺณํ สุภาวิตํ / ยํ ปมาณกตํ กมฺมํ น ตํ ตตฺราวสิสฺสติ.
A benevolent mind, well and fully developed, is immeasurable; whatever deed has been done in a limited way, that deed will not remain in such a mind.
ขุ. ชา. ทุก. ๒๗/๕๙.
อานาปานสฺสติ ยสฺส อปริปุณฺณา อภาวิตา / กาโยปิ อิญฺชิโต โหติ จิตฺตมฺปิ โหติ อิญฺชิตํ.
One who has not fully developed mindfulness of breathing in and out — both his body and his mind tremble.
ขุ. ปฏิ. ๓๑/๒๕๐.
อานาปานสฺสติ ยสฺส ปริปุณฺณา สุภาวิตา / กาโยปิ อนิญฺชิโต โหติ จิตฺตมฺปิ โหติ อนิญฺชิตํ.
One who has well and fully developed mindfulness of breathing in and out — neither his body nor his mind trembles.
ขุ. ปฏิ. ๓๑/๒๕๐.
ทิโส ทิสํ ยํ ตํ กยิรา เวรี วา ปน เวรินํ / มิจฺฉาปณิหิตํ จิตฺตํ ปาปิโย นํ ตโต กเร.
A thief may harm a thief, an enemy an enemy; but a wrongly directed mind does far greater harm.
ขุ. ธ. ๒๕/๒๐.
ทูรงฺคมํ เอกจรํ อสรีรํ คุหาสยํ / เย จิตฺตํ สญฺญเมสฺสนฺติ โมกฺขนฺติ มารพนฺธนา.
Whoever restrains the mind that wanders far, roams alone, is formless and dwells in a cave (the body) — he will be freed from Māra’s bonds.
ขุ. ธ. ๒๕/๑๙,๒๐.
น ตํ มาตา ปิตา กยิรา อญฺเญ วาปิ จ ญาตกา / สมฺมาปณิหิตํ จิตฺตํ เสยฺยโส นํ ตโต กเร.
Neither mother nor father nor any other relative can do this; but a well-directed mind does one even greater good.
ขุ. ธ. ๒๕/๒๐.
ผนฺทนํ จปลํ จิตฺตํ ทุรกฺขํ ทุนฺนิวารยํ / อุชุํ กโรติ เมธาวี อุสุกาโรว เตชนํ.
The wise straighten the mind, which is restless, wavering, hard to guard and hard to restrain, as a fletcher straightens an arrow.
ขุ. ธ. ๒๕/๑๙.
ยถา อคารํ ทุจฺฉนฺนํ วุฏฺฐี สมติวิชฺฌติ / เอวํ อภาวิตํ จิตฺตํ ราโค สมติวิชฺฌติ.
As rain leaks into a badly thatched house, so lust leaks into an undeveloped mind.
ขุ. ธ. ๒๕/๑๖.
โย จ สทฺทปฺปริตฺตาสี วเน วาตมิโค ยถา / ลหุจิตฺโตติ ตํ อาหุ นาสฺส สมฺปชฺชเต วตํ.
One who is startled at sounds, like a deer in the forest — he is called ‘one of light mind’; his observance does not succeed.
สํ. ส. ๑๕/๒๙๖.
วาริโชว ถเล ขิตฺโต โอกโมกตอุพฺภโต / ปริผนฺทติทํ จิตฺตํ มารเธยฺยํ ปหาตเว.
This mind, drawn out from its home in sensual pleasures to abandon Māra’s domain, writhes like a fish taken from the water and thrown on dry land.
ขุ. ธ. ๒๕/๑๙.
สญฺญาย วิปริเยสา จิตฺตนฺเต ปริฑยฺหติ / นิมิตฺตํ ปริวชฺเชหิ สุภํ ราคูปสํหิตํ.
Your mind is tormented through misapprehension; avoid the attractive sign that is bound up with lust.
สํ. ส. ๑๕/๒๗๗.
เสโล ยถา เอกฆโน วาเตน น สมีรติ / เอวํ นินฺทาปสํสาสุ น สมิญฺชนฺติ ปณฺฑิตา.
As a solid mass of rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not moved by blame or praise.
