Whoever is not angry, not startled, not boastful, not vexed, speaks with wisdom and is not agitated — he indeed is called a sage, one of restrained speech.
A person of understanding does not speak rashly for the sake of others or of himself; such a one is honoured in the midst of the assembly, and afterwards he goes to a good destination.
Whatever word the Buddha speaks that is safe, for the attainment of Nibbāna and for making an end of suffering — that word is the highest of all words.
